Claire Burton is the Implementation Team Leader at Huntingdonshire District Council where she has worked since 2003, having previously worked in the Economic Development field at East Northamptonshire Council.  Before working in Local Government Claire worked as a Civil Servant in innovation and re-generation at Government Office for the East of England.

She has responsibility for overseeing a range of planning services objectives and outcomes covering negotiation and legal drafting for S106 agreements, site specific viability management, infrastructure planning and project management, collaborative working with a wide range of partners and leading on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.

Claire was responsible for implementing CIL in Huntingdonshire taking the Charging Schedule through one of the first examinations in the country. The council has been a charging authority for over 12 years now.  Claire continues to take the lead role in engaging with government and responding to consultations for the Council in relation to CIL matters and managing the day to day requirements of a CIL Charging Authority.
