Tom Oliver, a full member of CIEEM and Chartered Environmentalist, is an Associate Director at Atkins Global and currently the Ecology Lead at the East West Rail (EWR) Alliance. Tom has worked in the field of ecology for the past 17 years where he has worked on a wide ranging number of schemes from nuclear and housing developments through to waste water, new roads and HS2. During this time Tom has become recognised as a specialist in delivery of large scale infrastructure works and establishing pragmatic solutions to ecological risks and constraints in construction. For the past four years Tom has overseen all ecology related matters for the EWR Alliance from licensing and consent of the project through to implementation of the scheme. Tom manages a team of ecologists and specialist ecology support team and has overall responsibility for delivering biodiversity net gain across the project.
