Robin is currently an ERTMS Project Engineer for Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) where he is responsible for the integration of the ETCS Onboard system to the Electrostar fleets.  Robin started his engineering career in 1998 as an Army apprentice working with armoured vehicles, followed by 14 years at Volvo Truck & Bus where he also studied electronic engineering. Most recently in 2018, Robin moved to GTR.  During his time at GTR he has supported the delivery and Business as usual aspects of On-Train Wi-Fi, managed the upgrade of UK’s largest rolling stock fleet to GSM-R V4 as well as studying Systems engineering and integration.

Robin is now working within an experienced ERTMS team, using GTR’s experience in retrofit projects and introduction of Thameslink ETCS to act as lead Train Operating Company (TOC) with their partner Rolling Stock Owner (ROSCO) and onboard supplier to deliver a common Electrostar Design Solution for UK.
