Andrew specialises in digital systems and technology that improve today’s and tomorrow’s operations, with particular focus on resolving long-standing process, functionality and integration uncertainties for national systems. This has included Stock and Crew Systems, their integration with Traffic Management and Defect Recording, Analysis and Corrective Action Systems (DRACAS).

Andrew started his railway career with the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) supporting the operational side of Digital Railway technologies; authoring a number of industry agreed Concept of Operations, leading the fleet fitment analysis for the ETCS Long Term Deployment Plan and managing multiple national forums. Andrew is adept at complex problem solving and building industry consensus.

At RSSB, Andrew supports the development and management of standards in the Control Command and Signalling arena. He is also currently leading the advancement of standards in the data, operational systems and telematics field, seeking to realise the benefits of system and interface modernisation and standardisation in areas like train planning where there are few standards today.

Andrew is also a qualified Geophysicist with experience in data processing and analysis; developing new and innovate workflows to draw conclusions from complex data in the oil and gas industry.
