Imtithal is the Regional Engineer signalling and telecom (S&T) for Network Rail Northwest and Central (NWC) region. Responsible for setting & directing the reginal engineering strategy, technical policy, and associated activities to develop & drive an organisation capable of providing engineering solutions for all the regional requirements, including delivering sustainable levels of asset integrity & performance to meet customer requirements and deliver route and network targets.

She has led the work on the Future CCS technologies for Network Rail in both the GB and European environment. This involves providing a leading role for Network Rail in the Shift2Rail Innovation Programme 2 to advance the development of traffic management and control systems across Europe. She was also an architect in the development of Network Rail’s CCS R&D portfolio in CP6 working with a specific focus on the future CCS Reference Architecture alongside ETCS, ATO and Traffic Management.

She is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with over 19 years’ experience in UK- Railway System Integration/Engineering, including ETCS, Communication Based Train control (CBTC), Rolling Stock Interfaces & Integration, Radio Communication Systems and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). 
Imtithal has previously worked on a number of major upgrades programmes for Transport for London (TfL), including the Jubilee & Northern (JNUP), Victoria (VLU) & Deep Tube (DTUP). She has also worked in Fleet Engineering for a Rolling Stock Leasing Company (ROSCO) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) for an International Railway Consultancy.
