John is a career-long rail professional with extensive experience in delivery and management of rail projects worldwide, combined with strong team-building and leadership skills. Has been responsible for the full range of engineering management, from early development and planning through detailed design and commissioning/handover covering high-speed rail, metro, commuter, LRT and freight railways.

Over his career he has 20 years of management roles on both the client and contractor sides, successfully led self-perform and multi-consultant project teams to achieve successful outcomes in systems engineering, signalling and control systems including CBTC & ERTMS solutions, and systems assurance.

John's current role encompasses all rail projects and staff worldwide. He is responsible for the implementation of procedures and process improvements on all Bechtel rail projects, as well as peer reviews and assessments on other projects for both Bechtel and independent bodies, such as banks, to ensure that project schedules, method of delivery, and project risk analysis all combine to increase the certainty of output and achieve a successful outcome.
