James Norman is Head of Connections Reform at National Grid Electricity System Operator (ESO).  James is leading the ESO’s project to consider potential wide-ranging changes to the current GB connections process to facilitate quicker connection to and use of the GB electricity transmission system, in a more coordinated and efficient way, in order to help meet Net Zero ambitions and targets. 

James joined the ESO in May 2022 after more than 10 years working for Ofgem, where he gained extensive experience of transmission network development, including onshore and offshore network design and delivery.
