Alec Whiter is a partner in Burges Salmon’s award winning Energy and Net Zero projects team. Alec advises clients on all aspects of projects, regulation and project finance transactions in the net zero and energy sectors.

He has advised clients on gigawatts of distribution and transmission grid connections for energy projects across the technology range, including onshore and offshore wind, storage (including pumped storage), solar PV, tidal, wave, biomass, CCGT and others.

Alec also advises major energy users such as data centre operators, institutional landowners and developers of new towns on grid connection matters.

Alec is currently advising a number of clients on grid matters such as OTNR, Third Party Works, shared grid connection arrangements, Active Network Management arrangements, second comer principles and iDNO interaction.
