Matthew is an Operations Lead at the Planning Inspectorate, focussing on NSIP reform. Matthew is seconded to the role from his substantive post as an Inspector, having previously dealt with national infrastructure casework and planning appeals. Prior to joining the Planning Inspectorate he held leadership roles in local highway authorities, including the development of new models for delivery and funding of highways and transport infrastructure services. Matthew is an evidence based decision maker and sees stakeholder engagement as being critical to delivering meaningful change, wherever possible trialling new approaches prior to wider roll-out. Matthew holds a MSc in Transport, is a Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Highways & Transportation.
