Karen Barclay is Head of Major Infrastructure Planning & Stakeholder Engagement at Anglian Water, leading Anglian’s first NSIP: The Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant Relocation.  The first waste water infrastructure to come forward utilising the DCO planning route since Thames Tideway.  It is a project that will enable sustainable economic and housing growth in Cambridge, deliver a net zero carbon modern facility for the City, protect against climate change and improve the quality of treated water returned to the historic River Cam.   Karen also leads Planning, Consents and Consultation for Anglian’s Strategic Water Resource projects launching consultation on proposals for two new reservoirs for the East of England towards the end 2022.

Karen has an extensive corporate affairs and major programme experience developed in regulation, banking, utilities and top-tier consultancy with responsibility for stakeholder engagement with national and local government leaders on complex, high value programmes.
