Kraig has twenty-two years experience within the UK Department for Transport and has worked in multiple modal transport areas including Rail, Road Freight, Freight Resilience, Security, International, and others which has provided a wide understanding of the transport sector. Kraig currently leads part of the Ports and Shipping Team within the DfT Maritime Directorate, and is coming up to 10 years of maritime specific experience. This has focussed mainly on ports policy and general shipping matters, including authoring strategy reports such as the 2018 Port Connectivity Study, a number of legislative instruments, Freeports, and worked extensively on maritime and freight supply chain resilience during EU Exit preparations, and the Covid-19 pandemic. Prior to entering the Civil Servic,e Kraig spent a number of years in the communications and marketing sector.
