Paul Le Blond’s working life was spent in the aviation and rail sectors, mainly in strategy and planning, but with some spells in terminal management. He worked at Heathrow and on planning inquiries for major airport developments at Heathrow and Stansted. He was the initial project manager for the Heathrow Express project and then moved to Eurostar. He was an active member and President of the International Air Rail Organisation. For the latter stages of his working life he was a consultant on aviation and rail matters.

Since retirement, he has played an active role in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the Aviation and Rail Policy Groups, as well as the Public Policies Committee and, more recently, as Chair of the Membership Representatives Group and a Board Trustee. The policy groups are active in noting trends, providing advice to government, and publishing papers.
