Catryn is the Community Investment and Communications Director for Bute Energy. She joined Bute in September 2022 from the Charity Sector, after establishing the Welsh arm of the charity School of Hard Knocks. Prior to this, Catryn developed social regeneration programmes for social housing providers along-side communities throughout South Wales. After being ‘on the other side’ of community investment for over 15 years, Catryn is committed to bringing a community led approach to social investment, focussing on creating legacy and tackling some of society’s most prevalent challenges. She is driving standards in maximising the social return on investment in the industry which, for Bute Energy will include up to £800m of community benefit funding. Bute Energy as an organisation are committed to investing meaningfully in Wales and Catryn’s job, as she sees it is to ensure as much of the £3.2 billion investment stays in Wales for the benefit of Welsh communities through creating jobs, addressing fuel poverty and strengthening the Welsh economy.
