Jason Brooker

Jason is the Head of Environment at Govia Thameslink Railway where he takes the strategic lead in directing GTR on environment and sustainability issues including the continued development, management and improvement of the company’s environment strategy.

Jason has worked in the rail industry for almost a decade, beginning in the ticket office and starting his journey as an environmental professional at the same time by volunteering as an Environment Champion. He then moved in to Revenue Protection to work on-board trains out of Brighton whilst continuing his voluntary role in environment. In 2015 Jason became a full time Environment Manager progressing to the Head of Environment in 2016.

Jason is a Full member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) and a Chartered Environmentalist, he previously Chaired the UK Rail Environment Forum and is an active member of several industry level working groups. Jason undertook his undergraduate degree in Environmental Management and Sustainability with the Open University, and is currently undertaking a MSc in Climate Change, Policy and Development at the University of Sussex.
