Sanchay Singhal is a Chartered rail professional with over 17 years of experience leading and managing electrification teams in complex, multidisciplinary rail environments. He is the OLE Practice Manager at AtkinsRéalis, where he oversees overhead line engineering teams across the UK and leads work‑winning activities for Rail Systems. In this role, he has successfully driven numerous major bids and strategic opportunities across the business.

Sanchay’s career spans client-side leadership, design delivery, and engineering assurance. He has worked as a designer, checker, and Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (CRE), and has led the delivery of major OLE design schemes. His experience includes substantial time within both construction and design environments at organisations such as AECOM, Arup, and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, giving him a comprehensive, end‑to‑end understanding of rail systems.

His UK project portfolio includes several flagship electrification programmes, such as the Great Western Electrification Programme (GWEP), Midland Main Line Electrification (MMLE), North West Electrification Programme (NWEP), Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), Gospel Oak to Barking Electrification, Portobello Junction Enhancements, and East West Rail (EWR).

Sanchay holds a Master’s degree in Rail Transportation Technology and Construction Engineering Management, equipping him with a strong strategic and technical foundation. He has extensive experience in line management, mentoring, and developing engineering teams to deliver high‑quality, timely, and cost‑effective outcomes on major projects.
