Sam is Principal Engineering Manager for Overhead Line within Amey Consulting. He has been in the railway industry for 13 years spending all of that time in electrification roles. He is design lead for the electrification of the £1B Core Valley Lines Transformation Project, which is 172 single track kilometres of electrification. The project is the first to use a SMART electrification concept in the UK, utilising multi-traction rolling stock to help reduce the capital cost of electrification. Sam previously held the role of Construction Responsible Engineer for the Great Western Electrification Project, providing engineering assurance of construction works and delivering electrification utilising the High Output Plant System.
