Anna-Maria Sexton is a Chartered Environmental Engineer and Environmentalist, specializing in the new energy transition with a focus on the hydrogen and low carbon energies in the UK and globally. Currently serving as Environmental and Social Lead for Low Carbon Energy Projects at bp, Anna-Maria oversees the planning and consenting of groundbreaking low carbon energy projects, including pivotal roles in Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub and managing submission of the Development Consent Order for the H2Teesside development for the blue hydrogen generation. She contributes to shaping sustainable energy solutions aligned with the UK’s Net Zero Strategy, ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance. Her career includes several roles focused on managing environmental liabilities, supporting mergers and acquisitions, and leading multidisciplinary teams.

With over a decade of experience spanning environmental engineering, permitting legislation, and sustainability, Anna-Maria’s expertise bridges technical, legal, and commercial domains. She has successfully led multi-disciplinary teams across geographies, navigating complex regulatory landscapes to deliver innovative energy projects.
