Martin is a Director in Arup acting as one of our geographical multidisciplinary Rail Business Leaders for our Midlands based team. He has spent his entire career delivering signalling projects, mostly from a scheme and detailed design perspective, since starting his career with British Rail over 34 years ago. 

He is Arup’s Head of Control, Command & Signalling Discipline for the UK leading, overseeing and coordinating all CCS projects and their integration within all rail infrastructure enhancement projects.

Martin has deployed a wide variety of CCS technologies, including ETCS and new digital CBI interlocking products, whilst devising innovative system architectures, frameworks, implementation methodologies and standards for Control, Command & Signalling projects in the UK and overseas.
