Tom is currently Director, Rail Systems Engineering Lead, at Arup.

Tom started work in 1992 as a graduate trainee with London Underground.  Since then Tom has accumulated considerable experience delivering CBTC and ERTMS projects in both Europe and Asia, including 5 years with the Land Transport Authority, Singapore, and 13 years with Bombardier working on projects in China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and latterly back in the UK. In 2020 Tom joined Arup and now helps clients around the world to specify, implement and operate CBTC and ERTMS.

Tom graduated from the University of Manchester and is a Fellow of the Institution of Railway Signalling Engineers.
