Mr. Lorenzo is an Expert Engineer in Railway Signaling Systems at Ineco. He has more than 15 years of experience in consultancy projects mainly for the ERTMS system. During these years, Alfonso has participated in different working groups defining ERTMS/ETCS specifications at European level and has become a technical reference on ERTMS system compatibility analysis. He has also collaborated in placing into service ERTMS/ETCS in Spain.

Currently, Alfonso is the ERTMS Deployment workstream leader of the Deployment Management Team that has been launched by the European Commission. In this role, Alfonso provides technical expert support to the European Commission, ERA and CINEA in monitoring the ERTMS deployment in the European Networks and fleets while also identifying the main challenges and risks for its deployment.
