Ali Akbar is a technical expert in the renewable energy industry having had broad exposure to both solar and storage, and both utility scale and commercial projects.

Since joining Luminous Energy in January 2023, Ali has been pivotal in driving the company’s ambitious renewable projects in the UK and beyond. In his current role, Ali is responsible for the execution of Luminous Energy’s 180MWp distributed connected solar portfolio across the UK. His expertise extends to managing Luminous Energy's BESS portfolio, which includes projects within the UK and other international geographies, namely the US, Chile and Australia.

Before Luminous Energy, Ali was based in the Middle East, where he was involved in the construction of both utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) renewable energy projects. Over his career in the region, he successfully constructed over 100MW of renewable energy projects, demonstrating his capability in delivering large-scale, high-impact energy solutions.
