Michael heads up Suffolk County Council’s Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) function. As Programme Director for Sizewell C, Michael has led the Council’s engagement and negotiations for the past five years in preparation for and throughout the DCO examination. In his current role, Michael oversees the Council’s involvement in all NSIPs proposed for Suffolk – with 12-14 primarily energy related NSIPs, Suffolk probably has the highest number of NSIPs in the country.

Michael has 20 years’ experience in local government. As programme director and transformation professional with a spatial planning background, he has led over the years a wide range of programmes and initiatives, including NSIPs, educational and social care transformations, divestment of council services, energy, and urban regeneration.
