Phil King is a Technical Director and Infrastructure Planning Growth Lead at WSP, he has over 23 years experience working in planning and consenting. After beginning his career in local authority planning, he moved into consultancy working at AECOM before joining WSP in 2022. Phil has specialist expertise working on Development Consent Orders (DCO) for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) including work on High Speed Two and leading DCOs in National Highway’s capital programme. Phil is now applying his expertise in the energy sector working for clients seeking consent for projects in hydrogen and carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS). This includes as WSP’s Project Director on a Development Consent Order (DCO) for a client with a hydrogen and CCUS project at examination stage.
