John Galloway is Head of Land Technical & Governance at National Grid Electricity Transmission. He joined National Grid in 2025 to lead a new team providing guidance, policy and governance support on land rights acquisition and delivery for new and existing infrastructure in the transmission network in England and Wales. John was Head of Land & Property at offshore wind farm developer Ørsted from 2019 and prior to this, as a qualified real estate solicitor, for a decade he advised energy and infrastructure developers across the country on design, development, portfolio management, M&A transactions, and NSIP schemes. He has experience of acquisition of land and rights by voluntary agreement, promoting multiple and competing DCOs, as well as implementing compulsory powers authorised under the Planning Act, Transport and Works Act and Electricity Act.
