Born and bred in York, Julian has worked for a mix of private and public sector organisations over his 25 year career. He currently leads York’s strategic transport planning work, a job which has included representing the council at the recent Examination of York’s Local Plan (the city’s first since the 1950s) and input into the planning of, and Section 106 negotiations for, many of York’s large development sites. Most recently, Julian has led production of York’s new Local Transport Strategy and is now developing a Movement and Place Plan for the city, a piece of work supported by funding from the newly created York and North Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. In his spare time he is an orchestral musician.
