Alicia has over a decade’s experience working in Parliament and the civil service. As an official in the House of Lords, she led teams working on Select Committees and advised peers on legislation, including drafting amendments and private members’ bills. In the civil service, she’s worked in the Cabinet Office, particularly focussed on ensuring the government is able to get it’s legislation through Parliament, including drafting the Queen’s Speech in 2021. Most recently, she led the Levelling Up and Regeneration Act, implementing one of the largest changes to the planning system in a generation. Alicia started her most recent role as Deputy Director of Planning Infrastructure in March 2024. Her role is focussed on delivering the Government’s commitments in the NSIP Action Plan and ensuring that the NSIP regime can evolve to meet the UK’s ambitions on net zero, energy security and adapting to a changing climate.
