Ben Lewis is a Director at Barton Willmore and leads the Practice’s national Infrastructure & Energy Team. Ben specializes in the consenting of energy and infrastructure projects and has acted for project promoters, interested parties, land owners and local authorities at all stages of the Development Consent Order process for nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs). He has acted on numerous NSIPs including the Tata Steel process-gas fired power station and the Glyn Rhonwy Pumped Storage scheme in Wales, Transport for London’s Silvertown Tunnel and the Sunderland International Advanced Manufacturing Park. Ben secured planning permission for Wales’ largest solar and storage project and is currently advising clients in connection with a Development of National Significance in South Wales, Wylfa Newydd nuclear power station and the future expansion of Bristol Airport. Ben is a Council Member of the National Infrastructure Planning Association (NIPA), sits on Renewable UK Cymru’s Strategy Group and is currently advising on IWA’s Re-energising Wales project.
