Liz Evans

Planning and Development Manager
Welsh Power

Liz joined Welsh Power as Planning and Development Manager in 2023. Prior to this she was Planning and EIA Director at Lichfields, which she joined after graduating from Cardiff University in 2005 with a BSc (Hons) in City and Regional Planning and an MSc (Dist) in Transport Planning. Liz is also a Practitioner member of the Institute of Sustainability & Environmental Professionals (formerly IEMA).

Her career at Lichfields focused on all aspects of planning consultancy, which led to a specialism in managing EIA projects and large consultant teams across the UK. She also worked on energy and infrastructure projects, including the delivery of a portfolio of peaking plants, and securing the first permission to be delivered through the Wales DNS regime – a CHP cogeneration unit at Valero’s Pembroke refinery that was part of a £127m investment.

At Welsh Power Liz is part of a small team that delivers grid stability facilities and energy projects across the UK and Ireland. Her role has broadened from a solely planning focus to include all project aspects from inception to operation, working closely with landowners, agents, funders, infrastructure manufacturers, construction teams and operational teams.
