Ellie Brundrett

Net Zero Project Manager
Regen

After graduating from the University of Birmingham with a BSc in Geography in 2016, Ellie spent three years working in the commercial team of a renewable energy supplier. As a senior forecasting analyst, she was responsible for the accurate forecasting of both demand and generation positions, and also worked closely with stakeholders such as Bristol City Council to develop and deliver a number of decarbonisation projects.

Ellie is skilled at transforming data-based analysis into proposals and recommendations and, since joining Regen in September 2021, she has been working closely with the Welsh Government to produce a set of reports exploring both energy generation and use across Wales. These reports, which build on similar studies conducted by Regen in previous years, support the delivery of Wales’s future energy strategy through the creation of an evidence base against which decarbonisation targets can be measured.

Ellie is also Regen’s markets lead and in September 2022 she led Regen’s response to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)’s Review of Electricity Market Arrangements open consultation. This involved bringing together subject matter experts from across Regen’s knowledge areas, helping to run two member events on REMA and supporting Regen and Electricity Storage Network member organisations to feed in their thoughts and comments to the response. The final document was over 80 pages long, making it the longest and most comprehensive consultation response in Regen’s history.
