Ross Ashton is a Chartered Project Professional with over 15 years’ experience delivering and sponsoring complex infrastructure programmes within the UK rail industry. He is currently a Principal Programme Sponsor at Network Rail, leading sponsorship of the Transpennine Route Upgrade – an £11 billion programme transforming connectivity, capacity, and performance across the North of England.

Ross has previously project-managed electrification schemes and infrastructure upgrades, including work on the Northern Hub and North West Electrification Programme.

He holds an MSc in Programme & Project Management from the University of Warwick and a BSc (Hons) from the University of Bath, alongside a range of professional qualifications including Chartered Project Professional (ChPP), MSP Practitioner, and NEBOSH.
