As Founder & Chair of The Rail Innovation Group, Liam coordinates the Group, leads on initiatives such as the Recognised Innovation Scheme & regular knowledge-sharing Meet Ups. Liam has built networks across the rail sector to build partnerships & help traditional organisations understand & attract digital talent to support their service development. In addition, he leads activities to find & promote new types of digital suppliers for the rail industry, and wider future mobility landscape through a national outreach programme.

Liam founded the community in 2016 to advocate for:

• a more diverse workforce, comfortable with emerging technologies;
• more industry support to nurture new start-up companies;
• better integration with future mobility services;
• industry-wide understanding of co-creation & tech development models;
• changes to current procurement & approval processes to exploit tech solutions.

Liam also draws on his professional experience as a Transport Planner to undertake planning and policy development projects for public bodies both in the UK and internationally.
