Jonathan Brown is Strategic Rail Lead at Transport for the North, the sub-National Transport Body for the North of England.  Jonathan’s role involves managing the co-sponsorship relationship with the Department for Transport on Northern Powerhouse Rail and also acting as lead advisor on HS2.  Since April 2022 Jonathan has been developing Transport for the North’s work on rail reform which seeks to build on the successful Rail North Partnership through which Transport for the North jointly manages the Northern and Transpennine Express services and exploiting opportunities in the Williams Shapps Plan for Rail.  Jonathan is a transport planner and has worked at Transport for the North since 2016 having previously worked in local transport and economic development agencies.
