Mat is the Managing Director of Egis Transport Solutions Limited (Egis), which is part of Egis Group, a highly respected €1.07bn turnover construction engineering and mobility services group which operates worldwide.

Mat started his rail career in 1991 as Trainee Lineman at Romford Overhead Line Maintenance Depot. In the years that followed, he worked in various project management roles at Balfour Beatty, Amec, Colas and Network Rail, supporting the delivery of prestigious projects such as Southern Power Upgrade, Thameslink and London Bridge Station. 

Mat co-founded ETS (then CPMS) in 2012 and spent the next 9 years building the company in a very successful £8m turnover multi-disciplinary business, delivering high-profile projects in rail, aviation and the highways and building solid relationship with over 59 clients, including Network Rail, Eurostar, Ernst & Young, TES, Alstom, Amey, TfW, Enfield Council and Capita.

In 2021, CPMS became part of the French engineering and construction Group, Egis, changing its name to ETS. 

Mat was presented with the Inspirational Man of the Year Award at the Women in Rail Awards 2021.
