Andy started his career with British Rail in 1991 as a track operative working on their Western Region before he took on operations roles during both the Paddington remodelling and the installation of Heathrow Express.

As well as overseeing remodelling at both Euston and Leeds, Andy spent many years at Network Rail working in their Route Services division. A long list of accomplishments includes helping bring the East Coast Main Line back into safe use following the Hatfield train crash and assisting in the delivery of Project Evergreen 3 on the Chiltern Main Line.

Andy has been working for HS2 Ltd for six years, overseeing their Materials by Rail programme and the project’s possession access to the conventional railway.
