James is an innovative mechanical engineer with a breadth of experience across the rolling stock sector.  In his role as principal rolling stock consultant, he provides a wide range of support to both First Group and external operators, including developing new fleet strategies, leading new rolling stock delivery and technical development and trialling of new solutions. 

Previous experience includes decarbonisation manager at a ROSCO where he was responsible for creating and leading on the companies decarbonisation strategy, as well as managing a number of major decarbonisation engineering projects.
