As a Ser Cymru II Research Fellow at Swansea University (2018 to 2020) I worked to develop novel nanomaterials for application in biomedical research. To date, my academic work has yielded 35 peer-reviewed research articles in top international journals (including a recent article published in Nature Communications, 2021), in total my research has been cited over 1400 times. Having worked in the UK and in The Netherlands (2014-2018), I developed a broad interdisciplinary collaborative network to develop cutting-edge research at the interface of physical and biological sciences. Since September 2020 I joined the Cardiff-based biotechnology company, Jellagen, as Head of Chemistry where I now work to develop next-generation Jellyfish Collagen-based biomaterials for tissue engineering and biomedical applications.
