Elena Sarieva is Head of Planning at Elements Green, where she leads on consents management for grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.

She has played an integral role in the development of the Great North Road Solar and Biodiversity Park, recently accepted for Examination. Elena has led on a range of environmental and planning inputs for the Development Consent Order (DCO) application, as well as stakeholder engagement – both technical and public. Elena is working closely with the engineering and construction teams at Staythorpe BESS where aligning planning and grid programmes has been essential for the project delivery.

Elena also has considerable experience in the delivery of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), gained during her previous roles at SSE’s Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm consents team.
