Loïg Chesnais-Girard is 44 years old, he has two children.

Breton, he was born in Lannion (North-West Brittany) his parents then moved to Liffré, a town close to Rennes in Eastern Brittany.

He studied Economy in Rennes and spent a several months in New-York to complete his skills. 

At 18 years of age, he was elected councillor in his committee, and became Mayor in 2008 at the age of 30, position he will keep until 2017.

Working in a banking group is job was to deal with the development of regional businesses.

In 2010, he is elected Regional Councillor, from 2012 he becomes First Vice-President of the Regional Council in charge of Economy and Innovation.  

On June 22nd 2017 Loig Chesnais-Girard was elected, at 40 years of age President of the Regional Council of Brittany.
