Brecon Beacons National Park

Kevin Booker is currently employed by the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority – a special purpose Local Authority charged with looking after the Brecon Beacons National Park. One of three National Parks in Wales the Brecon Beacons covers 520 square miles of protected landscape.

Originally employed as a IT Systems Officer Kevin has turned a passion for cars into part of his role with the National Park. By taking over the procurement of vehicles where Change has taken place quickly. We added our first electric pool vehicles in 2016 and now 87% of this fleet is electric, including, a Renault Zoe and 4 Hyundai Konas, which replaced diesel vehicles. By the end of 2020 we plan the removal of fuelled vehicles from the pool fleet entirely.  We have introduced 2 Outlander PHEV to reduce warden fleet emissions and replaced all diesel vehicles with Euro 6 compliant models. In 2016 we were awarded Go Ultra Low Company status for our continued commitment to electric mobility. 

Kevin has also taken the lead in supporting site based staff in installing green energy solutions with over 55KW of solar panels installed in the last 2 years, and innovative solutions for power provided at off grid sites.
