Reverend Gethin Rhys is a Christian minister who has served in the Brecon area, Coleg Trefeca, and Trefforest and the Rhondda. He has higher degrees in Politics and Theology. 

He currently works for Cytûn (Churches together in Wales), the umbrella body for the principal Christian denominations of Wales, as Policy Officer. This role involves good communication between the churches and the Welsh Government and Senedd, and with the UK Government and Parliament regarding matters affecting Wales. Gethin is currently Lead Representative for Religion on the Third Sector Partnership Council, and in that capacity meets regularly with the Environment Minister and other Welsh ministers and the Future Generations Commissioner. 

He will speak today on behalf of Climate Sunday, an initiative of churches across Britain and Ireland to prepare for COP26 in prayer, grassroots practical action and political action. He is a member of the Climate Sunday Steering Group.
