Penelope joined BT in early 2020 to lead BT's decarbonisation strategy. Her role encompasses working across the business to drive carbon efficiency through transitioning BT and Openreach’s fleet to zero emission vehicles, decarbonising BT’s 6,000 buildings, and working with BT’s supply chain to drive lasting environmental change. Penelope launched this year in partnership with The Climate Group the UK Electric Fleets Coalition to accelerate the UK’s transition to a Net Zero society.

Penelope represents BT in external fora such as the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and The Climate Group. She is a regular speaker about BT's climate action journey.

Prior to joining BT's Digital Impact and Sustainability team, Penelope held roles in Energy and Environmental Sustainability across retail, property, telecommunications and oil industries.  She has an MA in International Studies from the University of Technology Sydney a BA in International Relations and Languages from the University of Sydney and a post graduate certificate in Environmental Management from the University of Bath.
