Magnus Harrold is an Innovation Manager at the ORE Catapult, the UK’s leading technology innovation and research centre for offshore wind, wave and tidal energy. Growing up in Orkney, Magnus was inspired by the power of the sea from a young age. He moved to Wales in 2013 to complete an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) whilst part of a team that designed, installed and tested Wales’ first grid connected tidal stream turbine. He has been active in offshore renewable energy ever since and is currently part of ORE Catapult’s team in Wales delivering the Marine Energy Engineering Centre of Excellence (MEECE) project.
