Brendan Kelly is the elected Regional Organiser for the Rail, Maritime and Transport union ( RMT ) for the South Wales & West Region. 

He has been a full time official for the union for 12 years. Brendan has worked in road transport and then rail for a total of 43 years, starting as an apprentice coach builder in 1977. 

RMT is a specialist transport union dealing with rail, shipping, offshore rigs, road transport, taxi etc. Protection of the environment is at the core of RMT aims and it recognises the pivotal nature of public transport in achieving environmental targets. The RMT also recognises that protection of workers jobs, terms and conditions is vital as industries adapt and change to meet new standards. 

Brendan says:
