Cuan Rowlands

Connections Strategy Engineer
National Grid

Cuan joined National Grid Electricity Distribution (formerly Western Power Distribution) in 2020 after completing his Master of Engineering degree at Cardiff University. He is managing and working on several exciting projects, including the UK’s largest actively managed, low-carbon housing development at Parc Eirin and supported the trial of second generation Distribution System Operator services through Future Flex.

He is passionate about decarbonisation and how National Grid, as the country’s largest Distribution Network Operator, will support customers in the transition to net zero. He believes that electrification is key to unlocking the UK’s 2050 target and hopes that being part of the net zero solution will lead to a fulfilling career as the distribution network adapts to this revolutionary change. Cuan aims to continue working on a range of projects that will help manage increased demands from electric vehicles, heat pumps and other low-carbon technologies, whilst developing the customer connection journey.
